Engaging Works is the consumer-facing workplace happiness service, alongside Engaging Business for business-to-business workplace happiness.
Engaging Works is provided as a web platform, with access to a variety of interconnected services aimed to improve the happiness and engagement of a employee. Some features include surveys, instant messaging, job matching and user-generated content libraries.
I worked as the de facto lead front-end developer for Engaging Works. I was responsible for everything client-side, including feature delivery, establishing processes and patterns for constructing new features, testing and bug-fixing, and more. I created architectural patterns and created tools to help enable rapid delivery of new features and enhancements to existing features, and enabled a velocity that would otherwise only be achieved by a team of a much larger size.
Beyond technical work, I held responsibility for communicating with non-technical stakeholders - internal and external - leading agile ceremonies, mentoring and upskilling other developers, and creating workflows between designers, developers and testers.
My work on Engaging Works was critical in re-launching the brand, and the code I wrote & patterns I designed are still in use to this day.
